Crohn’s Disease

28 06 2010

I have had Crohn’s disease since I was eleven. That’s over half my life now.

When my doctor told me that I needed an ostomy, I was horrified. After my surgery, I felt better than I had in years. I hoped that this was the end of my flares. I really wanted to feel normal!

This year, I went into another flare. Because I have been on so many medications in the past, they were really out of treatment options for me. I went to Mayo Clinic and found a new doctor and now I’m trying Cimzia! We’ll see how this all pans out. Right now my gut feeling is that this could be a short term fix, but I’m not sure that it will be the long term solution I’m looking for.

Keep thinking good thoughts about all of us with bowel diseases! We need them 🙂
